Perfection

Well... its been a while since frankly I haven't felt motivated to write, its silly, but you have to have some motivation to say something, because I can be perfectly content with saying nothing at times, as long as the silence isn't awakard....like my spelling. So... on to my title, perfection ( Read more... )

If this idea truely worries you... bindedmind December 21 2004, 08:10:06 UTC
than don't stress, because I don't think either you or I will ever achieve perfection in this life. Besides, you really have to ask yourself what exactly perfection means? Only positive events occuring arround you? Responding correctly to every situation? It is strange how often the best answer is just another question.

Perfection is an idea, it differs from person to person and because there is no solid definition of perfection one total and utter state of perfection can be reached. We evolve, that's what we do, so if someone were to claim that perfection had been reached by someone else then that would be perfection in that single moment and we can never get back to it. People change constantly, if someone believed another to be perfect they would not stay in that moment eternally that moment would be gone before they had even registered what the other person had said. We can't hit the roof and bounce back from it time after time because there is no roof only our idea of it. We may force ourselves to digress but no one else (except possibly with a lot of shiny science paraphernalia) can manipulate us into that digression. Am I making any sense?
Glad that you're back my dear, and a thousand Happy Christmases.
So why the rant on perfection?

hmm...very mystical, if I might say... bindedmind December 22 2004, 20:15:38 UTC
Please be aware that I am not making an attack on your person, but your arguement. If perfection has "no solid definition", then how did you just define it as an idea? Rather, perfection does exist in an ultimate and absolute form, but we humans cannot pin-point the exact criterium of it. Some people have many requirements that go into the completion of perfection, while others have very few. Perhaps, it is a brief instant, or perhaps it is more lasting. What people believe does not shape what perfection is, it simply guides them in their pursuit of it. This is the concept of perspective, and the realization perspective is the key to understanding ( ... )

Are you like Buddhist or something? Cuz that was a very Buddhisty subject you were talking about and one I've been thinking about lately. You're a CRAZY GIRL!

Who exactly are you referring to, friend? The owner of the journal, myself (not a girl), or the other commenter?

I doubt you mean me because (once again) I am a man and besides that, I probably mentioned some of the least Buddhist concepts in my posts. In any case, who do you mean?
