HEY. HEY YOU.

Okay everyone should RUN not walk to purchase Oku-san's Daily Fantasies; it's a digital purchase, meaning it can be cheaper than hardcopy manga (which it is!), and it's one of the craziest, cutest BL manga I've read in a while ( Read more... )

Oh God, this is the first time I've posted a comment without having a paid LJ account. WTF is this ish?!

Anyway, how does digital copy work with this site? I liked what I read of Oku-san a couple of years back, but despite what others say, I really don't think the Kindle is a great device for reading manga. Is it a reader that you download to your computer? I checked out the preview for Love Pistols, and it was a decent translation, but I'm just trying to figure out how I would "own" the book (and the website doesn't say! Or did I miss it?).

Anon on tumblr says:

"You can get it from the SuBLime webpage from anywhere in world but you either need an amazon or a paypal account. You can then read it in their online reader and download a pdf copy. Unfortunately, it's only available in digital form and while they have said that they would be willing to print if sales are high enough, they have also mention that sales have been kinda low."

I assume the "read it on their online reader" and "pdf" thing are two separate options? So it could be something useful to you?

Wait, does this exist in Japanese? And in a non-digital version?
Also, I am curious, since someone said the author is a man, I will check if he's done more! (Apparently, some games?)

I bought it yesterday at Mandarake! :D So yup, it's easily available at Animate or K-books (and the author is a man! He's quite prolific with BL games, yup).

Ooh, thanks for the rec! This looks very entertaining! And it's interesting that they're making it available only in digital form.

I love Oku-san's Daily Fantasies!! I didn't know it was available for purchase now! And I've only read what was scanlated so now I'm even more interested after you make it sound like the whole thing isn't all like that. Not that it would be a problem if it was. That manga is so funny XD

Hey, I have one question because I've never bought the digital versions before... is it some weird format that can only be viewed on certain computers or programs? And also can we keep it after we've bought it so if I wanted to make icons, for instance, I could-- or is it a rental only deal where you buy it to read it but you basically can't save or share it?

I can check their site too I just thought you may know offhand and give a better answer than digging through their FAQs or whatever they may have.

I didn't either! Good thing we didn't start scanlating it like we were going to do XD;

I'm really not sure about the format, but supposedly you can either read it online or download a PDF...so I guess you could do with the PDF whatever you want? I'm not sure though, so don't take it as the gospel truth >_<;;

Read it yesterday, the beginning was kind a bit slow but the ending was excellent, the whole manga as a whole is hilarious, and really really sweet. I have it on PDF now but I’d love to have it on paper. Any more recommendations?
