Lightning streaks overhead, flashes of power within roiling storm clouds.
“Your Thunder God,” Ororo murmurs, her voice low and knowing. “Do you still look to him?”
Sif’s fingers twist through the paleness of Ororo’s hair, sliding gently behind her ear. For the longest time, she had thought Thor was her destiny, the two of them meant to be. But now Thor has Jane, and Sif finds her heart is not broken, in the way she suspected it might be, to have lost him.
She finds that perhaps it did not belong to him at all.
“No,” she admits, words almost lost between them with her lips so close to Ororo’s own. Tasting the sweetness of the other woman’s breath, the crackle of electricity humming in the air around them. “Truth be told, I find your lightning far more enticing.”
Ororo’s smile lights up the sky.
