Princess Bubblegum grips Marceline's neck tightly (but not too tightly) as she launches her feet off the side of the tower and into the starless night.
The rush of air into her eyes and mouth overwhelms her, nearly choking her.
Marecline dives lower, becoming level with the trees, but moves between them swiftly, her body twisting and turning, this way and that.
Bubblegum resolves not to shout (as it would distract Marceline and make this all the more dangerous) and squeezes her eyes shut, praying silently that she will land on the ground in one piece.
Marceline must have sensed how tense she was because she hears her say over the rush of the wind, "What's up, Bonnibel? Scared you'll fall off?" Her voice is playful, and it irritates her.
She wished she hadn't asked Marceline to help her find the rare cranberry flower. Unfortunately, it only bloomed at night.
Worse, Marceline's hair kept hitting her in the face.
At least she wasn't laughing at her. Yet.
