‘What are they doing??’ asked Robin, the confusion in his voice much too obvious for someone trying to emulate his mentor.
Batgirl rolled her eyes, ‘I’d say not-crime. Come on, this is a waste of time.’
Below them, in the park, was a shrieking Harley. The shrieking was not from pain, but from adrenalin caused by the slide she was currently travelling down at a dangerous speed.
For some unknown reason, Poison Ivy had grown massive hedges to close out the public from the park. Naturally Commissioner Gordon had requested for them to check it out. Batman had decided for once in his life that Robin and Batgirl could handle a little recon by themselves.
The slide that Harley was zooming down was made from a large leaf, covered in slippery moss. The end of the slide was curved upwards, causing Harley to shoot into the sky, only for her to be caught in Ivy’s numerous vines, which carried her back to earth with the care of a lioness to her cub.
Poison Ivy could only smile indulgently at the joy Harley was deriving from the experience. Her vines rushed up behind her to keep her standing from Harley’s leaping hug.
‘Thanks, Red! This is the best birthday present ever!’
