I have another question. Can we claim a character who is a child in canon but we've aged her so we can write fic?

Renesmee Cullen is a baby/child in the Twilight canon, but I have an adult version of her that I write and play in games.

(I'm trying to decide between claiming her for this and another character.)

yes, as long you're writing an aged-up version of her that's fine.

Definitely, OC's are claim-able. Which should be in the rules, so I'll edit them to reflect that.
