Yep, I found the comm yesterday, thank you! :) Once I exhausted Teaspoon of all its wonderful fics I came looking on LJ too.

Fave S1 episode? Oh, it's got to be Eye of the Gorgon, surely. That is where the 'someone special' line comes from, after all. And that wonderful, heartbreaking scene where Alan turns to stone and Maria blames her - Sarah Jane looks completely devastated the more upset Maria gets, but all she does is hold Maria tight and do her best to reassure her.

But then there's Whatever Happened...?! And the person she trusts the most...and their hug when they meet again in the No Place, and Maria being so scared that Sarah Jane will leave her...

Okay, I love them all. All right? XD

Awwwwwww! I miss Maria. I never did warm to Rani - poor girl, not her fault she replaced half of my OTP ;)

I feel a bit wrong shipping a teenager and a woman old enough to be her grandmother, but only a bit. Everyone loves Sarah Jane; that's just how it is ;)

Hee, I love Rani. I started watching in S2 so I saw Maria leave but had much more time to get to know Rani. But then I caught up on S1 and fell head over heels, so, what can you do. :P

I know what you mean about the age gap. But the fics I've read have handled it so well that it's ceased to be an issue, really. Besides, if it's perfectly acceptable to ship Doctor/Rose, and that's a 19-900 year age gap, then Sarah Jane/Maria doesn't seem like so much of a problem. :)

Rani's likable enough - I did like her in the episodes I managed to catch, honestly, but the show is SUCH a bitch to get ahold of in America that without the SJ/Maria love to fuel my geeky quests it just kind of fizzled.

Awesome justification there - I mean, you have a valid point ;) (Though Rose being 19...yeah, I love Billie Piper so much it hurts and she's beautiful, but she does NOT look 19. So in my mind Rose was at least 23. Which...I guess doesn't make that much difference when the Doctor is 900 anyway ;) )

Me, I just go by the fact that I don't think I'd had an age-appropriate crush in my LIFE when I was Maria's age. And let's be honest here...how many of us AREN'T madly in love with Sarah Jane, at any age?? :) (Somehow she just keeps getting HOTTER; how on earth does she do it?)
