And it wasn't a pseudo poem. (At least not by my standards). Then again, I love florid prose (I'm crazy about the Kushiel series, for example), so maybe I'm a lousy judge. ;-)

Florid prose. I like that. I think I'll call it alliteration and assonance as opposed to horrid, horrid rhyme.
