"This wasn't supposed to be hard!" Jubilee pouts. "You were supposed to be happy for us! It's not like I had to introduce her to a new family or anything. You're her family too!" Red eyes glare up into eyes that have seen countless wars and today seem to show the weight of those experiences.
"Ain't that easy, little darlin'."
"It's supposed to be! What is your problem any way?! She's your daughter too, more than I am even!"
He had looked away, but now his eyes snap back to hers. "Nobody's my daughter more'n you, Jubie," he growls.
His fierce words soften her a little, but then she remembers seeing the tears welling in Laura's eyes, tears she knows her girlfriend doesn't really understand. She's been working with her trying to help her become better associated with her own emotions, but these new pains Wolvy's brought on her today are pains she shouldn't have to feel at all. "She's your daughter, Wolvy!"
"So are you."
Jubilee glowers at him one more time, then shakes her head and runs out the door after Laura.
Remy shakes his head and patiently continues his lone game of Solitaire. "What is your problem, mon ami?"
"Simple." Logan snorts. "Kid's right. She is my daughter. She does what I do, makes the same mistakes I do. An' when she hurts Jubilee, I'm gonna rip her head off." Logan stomps away.
Remy shakes his head and deals another card. Dis world too full o' pain.
