Nyssa jerked awake at the door being flung open.
She sat up, glaring as her father, the king, stormed into her bedroom.
Beside Princess Nyssa Sara woke and gave a quiet yelp when she saw the king. Realising she was still naked Sara blushed and pulled the sheets up to her neck. Nyssa made no move to cover herself.
"Good morning father," Nyssa said through gritted teeth.
"How many times must I explain it to you? You should be spending time with princes, suitors, great men who are worthy of your hand."
"Believe me Sara is worthy of my hand," Nyssa reached under the sheets and squeezed Sara's thigh. "And my mouth, and my..."
"Enough," the king gestured angrily. "Enough of all this nonsense. You will stop seeing your plaything," he pointed with one finger at Sara, "you will start enjoying suitable male company and you will find a husband."
"No. I won't"
"Do not push me. I have been patient with you but my patience is running out. Please, don't force me to enforce the law." He didn't wait for her to reply. He swept out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
"Bastard," Nyssa said.
"I should go," Sara said.
"You should stay," Nyssa squeezed her thigh again and turned to face her. "I love you. My father can bitch all he likes but that doesn't change that my heart is yours.”
“And mine is yours.”
They held each other, both fearing what the king might do.
