Carol sat on the window seat, the smoke from her cigarette curling up toward the ceiling, seeming to dance in the low light of Abby’s bedroom.
“I know you’ve had a crush on me…” Carol husked in that way that only Carol could pull off.
“I, um…” She stuttered. For maybe the first time in her life, Abby was speechless.
Carol leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to Abby’s lips. “I’ve thought a lot about you as well…” Abby cupped Carol’s cheeks, drawing her in for another kiss, Carol obliging happily.
They were thrust together by furniture and fate.
