The punch cracked Hermione's lip and the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth. She spat it out, aiming for Pansy's face, but misses. Her nostrils flare, and punches her in the jaw.
A foot away, her wand lay abandoned in the grass. Pansy chuckles. "It's hard for a mud blood to talk back with that swollen lip of yours." Before Hermione could move away, Pansy grabs her by the chin, pressing her thumb into the wound.
It smarts and she winces, but is pleased to see that Pansy's bleeding, too, the skin between her knuckles split from the punches.
"You think you're better than us, with that wand, but without it, you're as helpless as a mouse being hunted by a snake."
