The pearl earrings weren't ostentatious, but they felt out of place on her ears, betraying herself by thinking that they would match the ones already braided into Aquata's hair.
She leans closer, as if comparing her pearls with Ariel's in the mirror.
Ariel averts her eyes, not wanting to look at her sister's reflection.
She hesitates for a moment, "Well, if you want them..."
Aquata waves her hand dismissively. "Oh, don't worry, I already have plenty."
