real.

2 typos: "wants to hear," "that her fingers (verb) under my dress"

I like this one better than the CSI one; please don't resent this...

Thank you (and for pointing out the typeos). :-)

Why would I resent that? :-)

Although I do have a question:

Why do you like this one better?

Is it the subject material? Is it the writing? Is the fact that I used second-person POV for the CSI one and that put you off a bit?
Do tell. :-D (Always looking to get better, doncha know. ;-)

I am a sucker for DiscWorld and well-executed first person viggies ;)

Loved the image of wanting to feel anything, even if it's only pain. Disturbing in a strange kin dof good way. Did that make sense?

Thank you. :-)
And, yes, it totally made sense. :-)

I remember... oh, probably about 15 years ago, I read an article about a woman who'd been abused as a child. Part of the abuse was 'silent treatment' -- as in, she'd be totally and utterly ignored for weeks on end, as though she didn't exist.
After something like that, even getting hit, or raped, was better than what she'd just come through because, to hurt someone physically, you have to acknowlege that they're there.

you obviously drew on this, to good effect. Made it real all right.

This Vanya thing you came up with is so cool. Awful, and cool. It's sort of like... consensual rape?

(See? I WILL get around to reading and reviewing all this! I will I will.)

Note the hlqlne review above: as much as you'd like in-depth criticism, usually it really is that simple: most readers don't think like critics. I know I do that very rarely and only when I'm specifically asked to.

Re: Hlqlne: Fair point, but it's good to *know* that this is why they like something. See, if I know that one style/subject/whatever suits their tastes more than another, then I know it's *not* (probably) something to do with my actual writing being better or worse in one fic than another.

The Vanya Thing: Consensual rape... Sort of... Totally Disfunctional Relationship, I'd say. (Big shock).

Re: Reviews: So I see. :-) I'd specifically ask you to, but I notice you've already commented on a huge ammount of them. :-) <*Off to read them all!*>

Okay, have noted that you still haven't got to the Bloody Long Fic ("Beyond Redemption") so I'm asking you specifically: in-depth criticism, please? :-) If you can? :-)

Oh, dear. I always read and review all of them (though sometimes I can't think of anything actually intelligent to say), you just need to give me time. It's long and I need to find the right space to read it and concentrate properly. I'll review it instantly after reading.

What I actually meant by not reviewing carefully unless asked was that I don't review carefully if I don't know for sure that's what the author wants. In your case I already do, although sometimes I'll cheat because I can't think of anything intelligent to say so I say something unintelligent.

Here on Cheesemongers I try to reply to every post. Sometimes it just takes some time.
