This is the best time of day.
The lights of the resort keep the sky from ever really getting dark, but it’s late enough that Claire’s switched from coffee to green tea. Laptop and two tablets spread across her desk, scrolling frantically through her phone, but at least she’s still. At least she’s staying in one room for more than five minutes.
Zara’s worked for other people on the island, but when a position became available to be Claire’s assistant, she campaigned for it hard. She thinks Claire was a little surprised at that, because she seemed to tear through assistants like paper.
She’s a good boss and a kind woman, but her life is regimented in a way that most struggle to conform with. It doesn’t come easily to Zara, the level of organisation required to keep up with Claire’s schedule, but she perseveres happily.
Because this is the time of day when she gets to cup Claire’s shoulders in her hands, gets to dig her fingers into tense muscles and hear the soft sound Claire makes as her head falls forward, exposing the line of her neck.
This is the time of day she gets to spin Claire’s chair around and sink to her knees with a smirk, watching the way Claire’s lips part, the way her pupils dilate as Zara pushes the expensive material of her grey skirt up her thighs.
Working for Claire is stressful, but this is the time of day when it’s worth it.
