oh, wow. Zoe/Inara is a regrettably rare pairing, and I love how you've rooted it in grief. and River's perspective in the second drabble makes it all the more powerful.

just for future reference: remainder wasn't actually the challenge word but rather the name for the open round -- during the remainder period you can write for any of the previous prompts. it comes around every 10 weeks.
