The remnants of Laurel's white wine clung to the inside of her glass, leaving behind white residue. She would have preferred red wine, but to say this to Helena (whom she had not considered a rival just yet, thinking of her as semi-innocent) would be rude.
Besides, they had more important things to discuss.
Helena was fluent in English, but spoke in a rich, heavy Italian accent. Something about it made her think of a princess. Laurel supposed, in a way, she was.
But, she in no way acted spoiled and bratty like Thea, seemed largely independent and courteous when need be.
Laurel hoped the flush in her cheeks was because of her second glass of wine.
