Satsuki sat down, sipping her tea quietly as Jakuzure played one of Satsuki's favorite songs by Beethoven.
Satsuki had always had a soft spot for this one, its melody simply exquisite, always tugging at her firm heart.
Carefully, she listened as the harmony rose steadily, but slowly, reaching its climax, before dipping back down and finally reaching its inevitable resolution.
Jakuzure and her entire group of musicians take a bow. As the only people in the audience, Satsuki and Soroi applaud her, but do not request an encore.
Jakuzure smiles at Satsuki with a certain sense of triumph. She knows when she has pleased her leader.
And Satsuki is indeed pleased. She feels more upright and focused than before.
After all, there is much to deal with today. Potential uprisings and whispers of a coup had to be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible. There was no room for mistakes. Underestimation would certainly be fatal this time around.
