It was her most favouriest time. Nighttime. Not that it was really night per se onboard the boat, seeing as it just was a period of hours during which they had programmed the lights out or to shine a dim light, but it was nighttime.
The time for all the boys and girls to sleep, to lie in bed, heads on their pillows and to dream. Nighttime was her favouriest time because of the dreams.
Oh, not her dreams. The other's dreams. So calm and fuzzy and soothing. No conscious thoughts that spoke to her, no voices. Only feelings and flashes of memories for her to choose from.
She left the warrior's dreams alone, they hurt too often. When she was sad, she listened to Wash's dreams. He dreamed stories full of love and family and wives. When she was ...needy, she listened to the voice of Inara's dreams.
Her dreams were full of desire and touch and flesh and pleasure and intelligence and of women. Never of men. They were of women's touch and of women's smell and of women's taste and of women's love. Some nights they were of River, too. In Inara's dreams River smelled heavenly.
