Gamora snarled when Nebula kicked the weapon out of her hand.
"You'll have to be quicker that that sister," Nebula said with a slight smile and a tilt of her head, her dark eyes amused. In her right hand was her own blade. It glinted in the light, it's edge freshly sharpened. Thanos didn't believe in training with blunted weapons. "Well?" She gestured at Gamora's fallen sword.
Gamora scooped it up, handling it with the confidence of countless hours of practice, watching Nebula for an opportunistic attack that didn't come. There was something different about Nebula that set her apart from her other sisters.
It wasn't just an attraction. Thanos encouraged his daughters to fuck each other. Taking pleasure in all the vices the galaxy had to offer was important, and indulging gave insight into the weaknesses of others.
But Nebula was special.
Gamora used her sword to deflect a sudden flurry of attacks from Nebula.
"Why do you hesitate?"
"I don't know," Gamora asked honestly. She didn't like not knowing. She didn't like feeling this way about her sister.
"You should stop. Or you're going to get hurt," Nebula said coldly and attacked again.
Gamora defended herself.
