Summary: Elena decides to take the day off.
Bonnie lifts an eyebrow as she watches Elena turn off her phone before tossing it into the purse and falling in the middle of the clearing, her back on the ground, staring at the bright blue sky with a wide smile.
"Aren't you turning your phone back on?" the witch asks after a while.
"Nope."
"Why?"
"Come on, Bonnie, when was the last day you could just relax without Damon or Stefan calling with a supernatural-related emergency?" Elena says with a small smile, then puts her hand on the patch of grass next to her. "Come on, lay here with me. Don't we deserve a day off?"
Bonnie considers it for a moment, then does as she told her; lying by her side, she feels instantly better. Elena laughs and entangles her hand with Bonnie's.
"A day off sounds like the perfect idea" Bonnie nods finally, making Elena smile again.
