Summary: Vastra and Jenny take care of a left behind Clara.
Note: AU for "Deep Breath" in which Twelve didn't return for Clara.
Clara's crying. She can't help it. She does try to not do it in public, only in the safety of her own bedroom, at night when, she assumes, everyone is asleep.
But Madame Vastra isn't asleep. She never seems to sleep, come to think of it. She and Jenny visit Clara's room, the room she's stuck in now, here, in Victorian London; the Doctor had left her stranded there, in a time she didn't belong, and these two women were kind enough to let her stay with them.
Vastra wraps her green arms around her, a gesture of kindness she doesn't recall seeing before, and there is no jealousy steaming from her wife; Jenny embraces Clara too, trying to soothe her, attempting to stop the tears.
"You'll be safe here, love" Jenny whispers kindly, and Clara's crying just intensifies. Part of it, she has to admit to herself, was out of joy for those words.
