Marian tries to hold in her sigh of exasperation, but it doesn't work, at least not entirely. But, she's sure it didn't escape Siobhan's notice. "Must you carry that again?"
Siobhan gives her a smile, but it doesn't seem to reach her eyes. Her eyes seemed to be permanently branded with suspicion. It's not surprising after what happened with Sarah. "I'm a bodyguard," she tells her dryly. "So, I'm guarding your body using a gun. Besides, no one will see it under my parka."
Marian tightens her own coat around her waist, then hitching her purse higher up on her shoulder. "I'm just going home for a little while to see Charlotte."
Siobhan arches an eyebrow at her. "You seem to be...unreasonable. You could fire me, if you wanted. But, I wouldn't leave, though. Not completely."
Marian tries to give her a delicate smile, like the one she would give to Charlotte (more often these days), as if to placate a child. But, it looks more like a grimace. "I know. I thought of firing you last week, but I knew that would be pointless."
Siobhan checks the safety on her gun. "You guessed right, then. Good for you."
