"Phillip's gone hunting, he won’t be back for hours," Aurora said, pulling Mulan by the hand into the royal chambers.
Mulan let herself be led through the sumptuous room that was bigger than the entire apartment she had been provided with as a Captain in the Royal Guard. The huge four-poster was one of many pieces of gorgeous furniture in the room.
Aurora wasted no time, shedding her gown and while taking off her underwear she looked to Mulan and noticed she was still fully dressed in her uniform and armor. "What is it? What's wrong?"
Mulan hesitated, then sighed, the weight of emotion draining from her body in a long breath. "Is this all we are?"
"What do you mean?"
"This. Sneaking around and having a couple of hours fucking in your marriage bed. Is this it? Am I meant to be your dirty little secret for the rest of my life?"
Aurora was taken aback. She didn't know what to say or do, the hurt in Mulan's expression and voice was like a knife to her belly. "No... No, I... don't know." She wanted to hold Mulan. She wanted to kiss her and tell her she loved her and that she was confused and scared and had no idea what do to.
Before Aurora could do anything Mulan said "I can't do this anymore," and she turned and left Aurora half-naked and broken hearted.
Mulan found a quiet, empty, room in the castle and wept.
