Signups start right now and end on Saturday, June 26, at midnight EDT.
Assignments will go out by Wednesday, June 30.
Stories are due on Monday, September 2. That's Labor Day in the USA.
Signups are open on both LJ and Dreamwidth. Please don't sign up on both - pick your favorite journaling service!
Rules:
- When you sign up, you can make up to six requests. You must make at least four requests. At least one request, and up to three, must be in the "listed fandoms." Up to three requests may be in "wildcard fandoms." The more requests you make, the easier it is to match you with a writer.
- When you sign up, you must be willing to write in at least one listed fandom. The more fandoms you are happy to write in, the easier it is to match you with a recipient.
- Listed fandoms are the 18 fandoms on the official femslash10 list. As is the case every year, we figure out the list based on the poll as well as other factors.

- * If you request or offer to write Buffyverse fic, you need to tell us whether you wish to write and receive fic about characters and events from the Buffyverse comics, or just from the TV shows. The question is Do you want to write and receive fic about the Buffyverse comics? and it is a yes/no question. If you say "no," we promise that you will not have to write or receive a comics fic. If you say "yes," you can still make requests based on the TV shows, too. It will be clear from your assignment whether your recipient wants fic that includes the comics.
- Wildcard fandoms include any fandom not on the above list. RPF is 100% welcome. Books, movies, TV, anime, theater, songs, and comic books are all fine.
- You may make one request per fandom. In each request, you should ask for at least one pairing. You may ask for as many pairings as you want. However, if you request more than one pairing, the writer assigned to you only has to write one of those pairings.
- Each request should list the name of the fandom and the name of the featured pairing. Please spell out the characters' names: abbreviations and portmanteaus/smooshes will confuse the mods and possibly your recipient.
- Each wildcard request should list the fandom as specifically as possible.
- You may request a crossover as ONE of your wildcards.
- Please don't make any het or m/m requests.
- You may request threesomes and moresomes as long as all participants are female. However, if you do so, you must also request a two-person pairing for that fandom. In other words, if you request a threesome or moresome, you must also give your writer the option of writing a two-person pairing in that fandom.
- You may request fic about transgendered women, such as Carmelita from Dirty Sexy Money or Alexis from Ugly Betty, in this ficathon. In other words, you may request fic about any character who canonically identifies as a woman. You may also request fic about genderqueer characters with female anatomy, because mosca feels strongly that people should be able to write fic about her and Tanith Belbin getting it on if they want to.
- You may not request fic about characters who are men in canon (genderswap or "always a girl" fics) in this ficathon.
- This is a femslash ficathon, not a friendship ficathon. That means there should be some kind of f/f romance, longing, kissing, love, and/or sex. You're welcome to request and write fic about asexual characters as long as it's in the spirit of this rule.
- In your signup, please list ALL of the fandoms that you think you can write in. Please DO NOT list pairing restrictions or canon restrictions, as we will not be able to honor them.
- Stories MUST be at least 1000 words long. We are really serious about this; posting a story that's under the minimum word count is disrespectful and disappointing for your recipient. If the story that you post does not meet the word count, we will consider you a dropout and assign a backup for your recipient.
-If you need to drop out for any reason, please e-mail the mods ASAP so we can find a backup. In sophia_helix's words: "No-shows are frustrating for the writer (who's stressing out), the reader (who doesn't get a story on time, or at all), and the mod (who has to find someone else to write the story or guiltily let it go). So please, seriously, if you think you might end up flaking out (busy RL, multiple ficathons, whatever), just don't sign up in the first place."
- If you signed up last year and were a no-show (i.e. you didn't notify us in advance that you were dropping out, and you didn't submit a story on time) you may not sign up for femslash10.
