But the shuttle only lived *with* Serenity. It wasn't a part of it, and it didn't listen to her like the bigger ship did.

Kaylee glared at him as River tipped her head back and forth and sang a song about a broken doll left out in the snow. Simon at least had the decency to look away.

I really like your River, too. And of course Book wanted to go help Inara.

I second jae_w - this piece reminded me so, so strongly of how much (and exactly why) I'd missed Kaylee since the show ended. Great job.

So many thiings I loved, I can't really pick out one.
I love the sweet moment between her and wash. both of them knowing that she wants Inara more. A nod to their momentary flirtation with assurance that they can only really be friends. And Kaylee's voice...and that she was mad at Inara for wrecking the shuttle.
