Okay. So I'm going to ask you guys to do something. I'm going to ask you to go see Star Trek one more time. And then I want you to go back out to the box office and purchase a ticket to The Brothers Bloom.
STOPITSTOPITSTOPIT!!! My "try to leave the baby with someone else for the first time to catch a movie" plan this summer was supposed to be for HBP! Now I'm all conflicted!
I WANT TO SEE THAT MOVIE SO BADLY! I've read the script, I've seen the first 7 minutes on YouTube, I've seen the other clips Summit released and I want to see the rest of it. Wantwantwant. And apparently it was released in Sweden last Friday but there's not yet a Danish release-date. *sob* Please tell me it's a bad idea to go to Sweden just to watch a movie that stars Adrien Brody. (Sweden is practically in my backyard, it takes only like half an hour for me to be in Malmo. It takes longer to go to my parents' summerhouse in the other part of Denmark.)
Please tell, 'cause I've already read the script: Is it still hinted at that the Diamond Dog is a creepy childmolester-y character that very well could have been a little too interested in the young Bloom?
It's seriously his BEST movie since The Pianist. It's SO much fun. And no! It's not a bad idea to go to another country to see it! I would! It's half an hour! :D It's SOOOOO worth it.
And yes, it's definitely hinted at. Well. They go beyond hinting, to be honest. It's never directly stated, but the implication is really, really, REALLY overt. And that scene. OMG. It just makes your heart clutch up the way Adrien plays it, nearly without saying a word. I love how he uses the slightest expressions/movements to convey so much emotionally.
Considering I really liked Hollywoodland and The Darjeeling Ltd., I can see now that I really need to see this! ;) (I have to say, I'm actually glad that Cadillac Records so far hasn't come to Denmark, because what I saw of that online...let's just forget that movie. That could very well be his weakest performance, post and pre-Oscar.)
I'm definitely going to check out the Swedish cinemas to see when and where it's playing. I don't think I can wait six months to see this one! *bounces*
Hee, this is just like the post-war era when the Danes would go to Sweden to see all the Hollywood films we couldn't afford to get up at the cinemas.

(Oh, and if you want to do that thread tonight, I'm around, or if you'd rather do it later, just let me know. *g* I'm pretty flexible this week...)
