I am gratified in the knowledge that my Starbuck could kick his whiny fucking ass.

She really, really could.

(Have you watched old BSG? Because...yeah.)

Oh yea, I watched it when I was a kid. It was AWFUL tv. I was so skeptical about the remake. But Moore kicked all conceivable ass. And so, as I said, does our Starbuck.

Dude! I can't believe you'd never come across that before!

Yes, I know! But then, my relation with BSG has been mostly just of the "watching it every week" variety. Well, a little fic reading and discussion, etc. but I haven't gone "researching" before now.

There's a guy at Gawker who likes to write about blonde tomboy space girl. I don't watch BSG, but the drunken recaps are still amusing.

He says things like, "step to blonde tomboy space girl, get knee-capped." To me it sounds like he fanboys the kickassness as well as the hotness. :)

Or perhaps the two are integrally related? :P

LOL. Oh god. I love the "feminists have killed the manly man!" argument. It's usually made by idiots that see themselves as the last, lone warrior of masculinity. It's a way of romanticizing the fact that they're clearly about a half a century behind the rest of humanity. No, you lone warrior, you keep floating out in that boat on the sea of ignorance.

HAMLETTA. HAND OUT BABIES. Are you kidding me? Seriously laughed for a good couple minutes at that. Women are not from venus, men are not from mars. We are both born on earth and have our gendered identities taught to us. Our difference is not necessarily inherent, it is a man-made (no pun intended) distance.

Loser. I want him to guest star so Starbuck can kick his ass.

Wow. That's really freakin' special right there. Men have been handing our cigars for thousands of years? Wow. Didn't realize tobacco was discovered by the Europeans THOUSANDS of years ago to be used in cigar-format.

Yes, that's the least offensive part he said. I can't deal with the most offensive crap. Damn.

I KNOW. But. He's so over-the-top and SUCH sour grapes (also, RIDICULOUS) that I can't help but laugh a bit. Ruefully.
