We went to a con and now you get this inanity

Nov 12, 2007 04:44

Because I am ME, I've been having all these random threads of meta-y thoughts before, during and since we left the con (about fame, celebrities as embodied human beings vs. media characters/performances, etc.) But!

In the meantime, kittyzams and I have probably slept for about 8 hours combined in the last however many days, drank who knows how much and um ( Read more... )

j2, kittyzams is the best!, you tube, insanity, picspam, one tree hill femslash ftw!, cracktasticness, creation con

Awwww, well luckily there are lots of generous (and less cracktastic than myself) folks who have uploaded all kinds of goodies, so hopefully that helps.

I wish you had of got to ask your questions (particularly the one about making out with Danneel).

Also - I think Jared just searches YT for unicorn videos.

Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed myself but I've worked through it. :P

Ahahaha. Yes, we had fun last night stalking You Tube and trying to imagine his thought processes. Which isn't at all creepy, no.

My REAL questions were: who is your favorite Beatle?

Oh man, Lucia, my friend ignited would've loved to know the answer to that one. :-P

to Jared: what would Sam Winchester do if he woke up as a woman?

And I'd love to know the answer to that.

Heh, your report is awesome because femslash perspective=FTW. Sandy and Daneel are ridiculously hot and I love seeing their hotassery getting some love.

Heh. My back up if they somehow HAD no opinions on the Beatles was regarding who their Beastie Boy was.

They really are beautiful in person. And I thought it was sweet how responsive and appreciative and chill Sandy was while she was watching Jared on stage.

HEE! That Supernatural/Charlie the Unicorn vid was not something I had seen before . . . wow.

I'm so glad you had fun! But I'm sorry you didn't get to ask Jared what Sam would do if he woke up as a girl. I would have been very interested in his response.

I'd be really interested in your meta-y thoughts! I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

re: in conclusion. Danneel Harris is really, really hot.

Yeah, I wonder how he would have reacted as well. And heh, I like how my questions would have been some of the only ones that actually had nothing to do with them (meaning J and J) really.

I have a bunch of meta-y thoughts actually, some possibly more controversial ones that have to do with the weirdness of being someone categorically against war in a room that suddenly turned into something akin to a pro-military rally, but I'm too cracked out to do it right now. And they're somewhat more personal contemplations really.

Dude, Danneel Harris is SO HOT, really for reals. It's probably good I didn't actually see her standing right next to Jensen because my brain might have shorted out.

I always notice that Jensen has a completely different public speaking voice from his one-on-one interview voice, and it makes me think of how they're pretty much performing as themselves at cons and such. It's very interesting. But I haven't had my tea yet, so I don't actually have any deep thoughts for you.

Also: I love hearing about the girls! Which makes yours my favorite con report so far. :-)

Yeah, they really are performing themselves. And as cute and entertaining as Jensen was, I was left with the impression that he's just not as good at that, or rather he's more awkward/embarrassed about it than Jared is.

Haha! I thought that you might appreciate me talking about the girls. Hee. Someone CALLED ME TO INFORM ME from within the hotel when it was discovered that Danneel was there.

Ah, I think you and I are the designated Danneel stalkers. (my husband: "You're cute when you crush on the girls. Now can you get me info on that chick that plays Bela?" Except my husband would never actually say 'chick' because he is a better feminist than I am.)

I can put in a command performance as myself, which is a weird thing to say, but I'm very shy, yet I come across as very social. Which is probably why I totally overidentify with Jensen. :-)

I think it's endearing that your husband is a "better feminist" than you are. Rock.

You know, I'm definitely aware of the fact that I am inherently doing a performance of self both in life situations and LJ but it's kind of hard for me to deconstruct at times. It's more obvious when I'm like teaching or on a panel or something. Or um, when I think about my posting filters on my LJ. But I also hear you with the shy/social thing. I think of myself as sometimes being a kind of "loud shy person" where I often end up being super chatty with the people I do know but hesitant or reserved with total strangers. And then I angst about whether this makes me come off as snobby.

Okay, babble. :P
