1. I think possibly the schmoopiest fic I write is about parent-child relationships. This is...I dunno, I'll share anyway.
2. Soy nog! The tastiness of nog, but not as heavy and guaranteed salmonella-free.
3. I had no internet pretty much since I posted the other day. I fixed it, yay! But I'll never catch up. Oh well.

Not eating the crusts is totally cheating.
"Good job with the sensitive parenting" made me think immediately of FNL's Julie Taylor, another girl who calls her dad Daddy (sometimes).
I love that Dean misses Sam and wants Sam's kind of pizza. And that Dean makes her call him Daddy, and that simply "Dad" is not permissible. And when Faith said there was no escape, and they all laughed it made me sigh, because it really made it clear that the wound was healed.
Your schmoop was schmoopier than my schmoop.
Love this, up to and including the coda. griN

And I'm so glad you enjoyed this - you've been there right from the beginning. :)
And Dean is so totally "Daddy." It was fun here trying to imagine him being both simultaneously still ridiculous and also a totally loyal parent. [Because I'm of the opinion that people don't suddenly become entirely different people when they have kids.] Huh, kind of like how he is about being a son and brother.

Uh, yeah. That bit where he was hoping boys weren't an issue, but was simultaneously offended at the notion that they weren't attracted to Jan was so very Dean. *smishes*
I really, really do love this.

We both [at nearly the same time] were writing Dean almost exactly the same with regard to an outsider finding someone he loves (Jan or Sam) hot. It's a combo of "back the fuck up off of what's mine, asshole" and "why WOULDN'T you be looking at her/him. S/he's hot!" You've got teenage boys looking -or not yet- at Jan, and I've got a trucker ogling Sam's ass. In both cases Dean's flash of worry/irritation is overcome by his pride and love.
It's kind of neat, I think, that he's so well-defined in our heads that two people writing het family fic and incestuous slash would characterize him almost identically.

At the commercial break, Faith grabs the remote and presses mute, leaning over Dean to say directly to Jan, “Look, what Mr. Articulate is trying to say is that if you like girls, we’re cool with it, okay? Okay.”
Daddy!Dean is just awesome :D

I just love everything about this verse. A while back you let me add one the stories in this verse to Supernaturally Twisted. Would you be cool if I added your other Supernatural Crossovers too? They'd be here: http://www.spntwisted.com/viewuser.php?uid=474
