have to just say that this whole adjustment to a new city/life has been so much smoother and less disorienting because of the fact that I have fandom in general in my life

I had a similar experience when I moved last year. It makes it so much easier to deal with the distance between friends and family, when you have other friends (and family) to interact with online. *hearts my flist, and you in particular*
