Losing LJ would suck, but it does look inevitable (http://valleywag.gawker.com/5124184/the-russian-bear-slashes-a-social-network). I don't want to lose touch with any of you, so here's my other details. Feel free to go ahead and add me now ( Read more... )

There's a website that I've used before where you can save your entire journal as a pdf (comments and all), but damned if I can remember what the link was. I'm hoping someone will post it again soon! If they do, I'll pass it along as another backup option.

Thanks for addin' me over at MySpace (I know you're on my other page there, too). I'm gonna be buggin' you for a long time to come. ;)

Non PC stuff...

I *seriously* doubt the plug will be pulled on LJ. It'll just be sold at a loss to yet another company... or run on a shoestring for a while. Probably both. The membership is too big an asset to toss. If the tech world learned anything from MP3.com, it should be that.

And if Owen really thinks fanfic and subculture weirdness can't be monetized, he needs to have a talk with Mr. Murdoch over at Fox. That's all MySpace is.
