Yes.

I have more to say about this, someday - but in the meantime, the glib encapsulation is this: pretty much the only thing that gives me mixed feelings about transition* is that there appears to be a comparative vacuum of fat positivity - and general body-variety positivity - outside the overlap of fat+queer+women**. There's some, certainly, especially in the Bay Area, but I don't see a well-organized effort at the same scale; people are more on their own in the great toxic meme stew. One hopes I'm just missing something.

*such as it is. I think I mean specifically not identifying as a woman per se, plus physical transition. The combination of the two.

**read: SOME women. If any trans woman gets attitude at this conference, its vaunted supportiveness as an institution becomes a myth.

The gender policy? They eliminated it. The new policy says, in part, that "anyone aiming to help create a queer, fat positive, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-ageist, anti-classist, anti-colonialist, feminist space will be welcome at NOLOSE."
