I wrote in two fandoms; I hope that's okay, but I really couldn't not choose both of them.

Consider this a write-in for Xena, which to my shame I didn't even realise would have been on my list until reading the comments!

No Birds of Prey either.

Birds of Prey would be part of "DC Universe," wouldn't it?

Oh yikes, *covers face* don't know how I missed that. Sorry.

For a deep-dyed comics fan, I imagine that initially operating up on the top level of "Marvel Universe" and "DC Universe" could be a surprise! :-) But it'll all come together.

Hey, can we have original fics?

No, the purpose of this ficathon is to celebrate the female characters we love from fandom.

okay, I get that.

But what about uber characters?

You can request an uber, but this is an exchange-based ficathon, so you should make sure to request something that a random writer whom you don't know can write. So if you're looking for ubers, this might not be the best place for that request! Sorry, but not everyone does well with that particular genre. :(

Question: is there a particular reason only one series of book is mentioned by author (Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan series), while the others are mentioned only by name (Chronicles of Amber, Women of the Otherworld)?

No, just the result of the mods brainstorming a list of fandoms.
