This is some of the scariest shit I've ever heard or could even imagine. I can't believe it's actually happening.
All the people who told me I was being overdramatic and reactionary when the Repubs took over pretty much owe me a big fucking apology, because it IS happening. They're stripping our civil rights off of us like giant sheets of skin.
Blah blah blah. The ONLY abortion method under fire is the D&X, or partial birth, abortion method. It is extremely dangerous, and not only is it NEVER used to save the life of the mother, it dramatically increases the risk of cervical infection, vaginal hemorrhaging, uterine cancer--not to mention the extreme risks involved by artificially inducing labor (of a breech birth, no less!) in the first place. D&X is not the most common method, and banning such a dangerous procedure, IMO, is a positive step forward for a woman's right to know that medical procedures performed on her will be SAFE.
Also, I find it deliciously ironic that you are posting something from such a biased source on a feminist usergroup. Planned Parenthood was originally founded as a carefully-disguised tool for racial genocide. Even today most of its prominent members are notorious eugenicists (i.e., racists). No offense, but perhaps a bit more research, on both sides of an issue, would be advisable before you get us all in a tizzy? :)
