My friend passed on this email she got from NARAL to me today - apparently there is a bill in the Ohio House that outlaws all abortions.

For real. I really doubt it'll get passed esp. because we have a Democratic governor, but WTF.

This is horrifying. All my family lives in NE Ohio, but I am still going to tell them to talk to their reps about this.

This bill (which I doubt will make any real progress, and in any case would not be signed into law by Gov. Strickland), is specifically designed to challenge Roe. Rep. Brinkman has stated as much openly, as this article in the Columbus Dispatch notes (2nd paragraph).

I live in Ohio, though not in Brinkman's district, and I have written my rep about this. But -- although this bill is repugnant -- I do not think that it will get far. This is the second time (I think) that Brinkman has proposed this legislation, and the last attempt died in committee. Even "pro-life" groups here in Ohio don't necessarily support it.
