It's none of her business what you do in bed. As long as it's between consenting adults, it's fine.

I had a classmate in one of my women's studies courses rip into me about how the "s&m lifestyle perpetuates patriarchal stereotypes of submissive women" or some such bullshit, after I mentioned it casually in conversation. I was informed that "no woman who is involved in any sort of domination could possibly be a feminist, since it goes against all notions of feminism to submit to a man".

I kindly asked her how she reconciled that notion with the presence of lesbian tops in the community, and she just stared at me. Score one for "supporting patriarchal stereotypes!"! *eye roll*

In other words, don't waste your time listening to such ridiculous statements. Sex (in any form) between consenting adults is not "un-feminist" or "bad" or anything of the sort. It's so silly.

There is always going to be someone who doesn't agree with you, in every area of your life. You just have to learn to ignore them.

That said, submissive doesn't mean less. Maybe she'd feel better after learning a little something about power exchange.

If someone called you a whore for what you do sexually, then she too has engaged in using the patriarchy's tools against her gender.

To condemn a woman's sexuality is to attempt to control her.
