This is really interesting. We actually were discussing this practice in my Sociology class the other day. It turned out women used to be put into menstrual huts , the real reason was so that they could rest and girls could learn about their culture and stuff. I am glad the government did something about it.

I can see how this could easily lead back to the biblical tradition of seperating women during their cycle because it was "unclean," but to think that this still continues today...

It's amazing the things that go on in our world that we aren't aware of, isn't it?

However, it's very good that they are attempting to educate them now. People are less likely to scorn what they understand, and the women should recieve much better treatment.

yeah it's about time!

they did that to women back in the Bible days, except they called it a 'mentrual hut'.

you'd think we'd have come a long way since then :-/
