Turning traditional African patriarchy on its head, 15 women established Umoja village in 1990, as a refuge after their husbands' behaviour forced them to flee their homes."

it kind of seems like the reason they hurt them again is the same reason they hurt them the first time - they dont have any control over them.

they probably thought these women were just going to go off on their own and die, but really they succeeded and are thriving without the abusive men.

Hmmmm. 48 women, bands of a dozen men. Sounds like a good time to plan for a common defense - spears and shield walls, Roman style. I hope they do.

I'm afraid they might have done nothing but paint a big fat bullseye on themselves.

Without some real support and protection, I fear for their lives.

Another thing. This - "Local authorities have promised to investigate, but there is great pressure on police officers to turn a blind eye."

Pressure from WHO, I wonder?

And it's almost amusing, in a morbid way, on how the men are getting upset. OMG! Those women don't need men to be independant and prosporous! OMGWTF! We're offended!
