Oh dear God, Lydia with a child? Poor kid!

I love everything about this -- from the mental image of Mr. Collins prostrating himself, to Anne finally making her escape.

Ha! I think I was reading your story while you were reading mine. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm rather fond of the image of the prostrate Mr Collins, too.

Thanks.

I have to second a_t_rain in pitying any child of Lydia's! This was an utter delight to read -- the voices were wonderful, Lady Catherine was hysterical and made me feel rather awful for poor Mr Collins, and how lovely to see poor Mary getting some credit at last. I love the glimpses we get into the characters' lives. Wonderfully done!

Thank you for commenting. I've always felt that Mary didn't get her due, and poor Anne never got to speak a word. It was fun to give her voice.

Oh, there is so much to love about this story. First off, the structure is just fantastic and inventive, giving us their voices not a bit watered down! Also- I love to see the thoughts and growth of each of the characters, most especially Miss Anne, who I know want to read many more stories about! It is so delightful a story.

This is fantastic, though I do feel terribly sorry for Lydia's unfortunate child. On the other hand, I'm glad that you let Mary and Anne rescue themselves from rather bleak prospects. And Lady Catherine, and Mr Collins, deserve it entirely...

Thanks! I do hope someone reasonable rescues Lydia's little girl. I like to think that Elizabeth with invite her to live at Pemberley.
