Thank you so much, sweetie. I just love that look on his face, it's the exact same one hubby gets when I'm being silly or dorky and he just looks at me like that with this smile and says "I love you," and I get all flustered and blush like a schoolgirl. lol
Oh sweetie these were all so, so good! The first one is so totally Dean like I can so picture his face looking just like the one in the icon when he sees Sam in that suit. Nomnomnom!
Then Dumpling's oh god her drabble nearly did me in and I want to speculate what is in the boarded up house because I think I know but I'm not too sure so I won't but GAH so perfect and so hurty all at once.
But mine, oh mine was utter perfection in every single way I needed and hoped it would be. And you so hit it on the head baby exactly what I thought and felt when I think about this icon. Oh god our boys, our sweet boys! ♥

Anyway, so glad you liked them. The second one I had playing in my head half the night, all the different sides of Dean, the ones he shows, the ones he tries to hide and the ones he can't acknowledge even to himself. And yes, that's the one he hides as well as he can but we know what's there and one day Sam will figure it out because sometimes you see what you want to see and sometimes what you want to see is what is actually there.
I just love that look on Dean's face. I know it's from a scene where he's not actually looking at Sam but the sweet innocent young girl but in a way that is how he sees Sam despite everything. Or how he wishes Sam still was, untouched, in all ways the word implies. And it's a look I recognised right away because hubby looks at me like that sometimes. So I just wrote that.

I just let slip the most undignified 'squee' sound I've ever made in my life thanks to that drabble...had to stifle it in my arm to keep from waking the family. So perfect its worth the mortification though.
