Our minds are playing merrily in the gutter, right along with yours.

School in US. We have classes right up till the end of that school year. Finals at the end of the school semester, just like every other year. Graduation is usually early June.

And, your wish is my command:

So ok, classes until maybe late May and then finals for how long? And then graduation right after finals? I'm so confused. Mainly I'm looking to find out how long from the last day they see each other in recess at school (seeing as they're two years apart and so not taking finals together) and until there would be a graduation party?

And heee! The icon! See, that's right where my mind went when I saw that pic. Mine! I was kinda thinking more of just the hand holding the arm but this works too! *g*

Ok, try here:

It's different from state to state, and very, very confusing. A lot of schools don't have graduation exams, etc.

A lot of the time graduation parties start to happen even a couple of weeks before graduation, sooooooooooooooo.... really, whenever you want the time frame to be would be fine. I'm so helpful...

Yes, see I already tried all those and didn't understand a thing. lol But I think I have it now.

I was more thinking of the kind of party Jensen's parents would throw him, rather than a drinking party wwith his buddies thing. Maybe you don't do that over there, the more formal thing with old aunts and grandma and stuff? It could be more of a European/Scandinavian thing. *ponders*

I graduated in late May, around the twenty-second or so, but it really depends on the state and county :/ As for exams, I don't remember but I'm pretty sure that seniors actually took theirs about a week or so earlier than the underclassmen and then spent the rest of the time getting ready for graduation o.o;;;

Awwww someone should make that icon, yis :) Eet would be cute and very very popular \o/

'Getting ready for graduation' meaning drinking lots of beer and smoking pot? *g*

made a very pretty one *points up* but there should definitely be more. Spread the possessive love!

Um... if your time line is Jared-centric (I'm going by the icon you used) then graduation would have been in mid-May of 2000 (same as me, in Texas to boot). We don't really do final exams, per se, because the big thing in Texas is the TAAS test, which is taken your sophomore year, but the schools really push that from about 6th grade to 10th and kinda... stop pushing exams/finals for junior and senior years.

If your overall semester grade averages to a 70 or above then voila! graduation in May. I graduation May 18, 2000. Last day of school was a week prior to that.

That may have been way more info/ramble than you were wanting. Sorry 'bout that.

Actually that is just what I wanted. It's perfect if there are no exams at all. Yes!

The year isn't quite as important since this is AU (it's for that based on a movie ficathon) and I'm juggling the facts rather liberally anyway. lol As in they're only two years apart in age (to make it fit with them having been in the same school for at least a year) instead of four and they have little brothers instead of sisters (who are really horrible, lol). And Tom Welling is a total asshole because I needed someone to be Jensen's jerk boyfriend and he was the only one big enough to intimidate Jared. lmao

Anyway, graduation in the mid to latter part of May with classes ending about a week earlier? Is absolutely perfect. Thank you!

People have already said this, but it varies from state to state. My daughter graduates in May of this year (and she'll be in Iceland - again - shortly thereafter:). Most graduating seniors are done with classes sooner than the rest of the students as well - usually about a week earlier. There is a lot of testing that happens in May too - taking the Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests that will (hopefully) earn you some college credit

And oh!!! That pic!!! Possessive Dean!! Compliant Sammy!! Yeah - my mind is right where it should be:))

See, you should come WITH your daughter to Iceland! Yay? YAY! Oh, if she's/you're here around the middle, latter part of June there's a Viking festival right where I live. Great fun! But I'm guessing she'll be here before that? *pouts*

adis723 gave me the facts pretty nicely, in the state of Texas in a very appropriate year non the less, so I think I'm pretty set.

Just for curiosity's sake, what's the difference between a test and an exam? Like is an exam what gives you a final grade from that school while the test is what evaluates you for the next one?

There is no way of looking at that picture without my mind going to very nice possessive!Dean places. Which is rather nice seeing as in my head Sam tends to be the possessive one. lol
