I stopped watching Smallville about two years ago. But then I thought I'd better keep up, both with the part of my flist that does watch it religiously and whatever might come up in RPS fic I'm reading. But yes, the plots get weirder with every season. Clark is pretty and the slash between him and Lex is so damn obvious, which is always entertaining, but there's just so much... weirdness. Is it just me or does this season very much feel like they're expecting it to be the last one and so are preparing to try and tie it - as much as they can with all the Superman canon screwing - with the Superman movies? Maybe it's just me.
I was really digging season 6, but it seems to be falling apart piece by piece this season. I'm still mourning the loss of Ollie, though noticing cute-Planet-editor (what is his name? he has a name)'s clear braces made me twitter for a few minutes.
