Dear God - I was just blearly scanning my f-list and I misread "Bernard/Manny slash" as "Bernard Manning slash". The brain pictures were nearly fatal. Go google him and suffer with me.
(back in the fatgirl jeans, btw and revving up to bore you all with another Diet Diary. After these two giant tins of Quality Street chocolates have been consumed, anyway. Munch, guzzle, chomp....)
Oh my god, that would make you lose your lunch. Not that Bernard/Manny is much better. All that hair!
I've suddenly become the fat one in the family because all my fat relatives have been on diets and losing lot of weight and now they all look great and I just look bigger standing next to them. Not fair. *sighs* Think it's time for some serious action after x-mas. When I finish my giant tin of Quality Street.
Oh my God! Somebodu knows Black Books!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why I'm surprised since you're probably from another land but here in the states NOBODY knows about Black Books. The only reason I do is because they played it once in the middle of the night on comedy central and I'm an insomniac. Plus, I got to see him live when he perfromed at a college here in California. I thought it was great because even though California is insane about smoking he smoked and drank during his whole set. Dylan Moran is amazing. It's one of my four favorites british shows (along with Python, Father Ted, and Spaced). Sorry, I don't know any Manny/Bernard slash...which is a bit desturbing.......so much hair *shivers*. I was just uber exited to here somebody talk about it.
Well, I'm in Iceland. We get most of the more popular British shows here, as well as the American ones. Must say that in general I like the British ones better. Maybe their humour fits us better, I don't know. So many great British shows, both old and new. Plan is to slowly build up a collection. *saves up pennies*
I'd love to see Dylan Moran on stage. I bet he's brilliant.
He is brilliant, though some of the jokes went over some of my fellow American's heads. He definetly made a fan out of my dad who had never seen him and now says Black Books is his favorite show....though nobody could see how I have a crush on Dylan. Maybe I'm alone.
Hvae you seen Spaced? It's got Simon Pegg (the guy who plays Shaun in "Shaun of the Dead" in it and it's REALLY funny.
The only good shows in America are Buffy, Angel, Six Feet Under, Firefly, Queer as Folk, Mr. Show, Invader Zim, South Park, Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and all the cartoons on Adult Swim. Other than that are programs are pretty much the same old crap
My dream job is to own a bookstore/cafe. I was gonna call mine: Read 'Em and Eat. *hee* I just love the idea of a really nice space where you can browse and drink tea and leave with an armload of good books. Sadly, there is no money in bookstores. But if I won a million dollars....
That is a great name! I'd go to a cafe with that name.
Nope, no money. Either you have to be a lonely spinster who doesn't need anything but a cup of tea and a biscuit a day or you have to own loads of money. *sighs*
Oooooooooooh!! Black Books! That was a bloody wonderful series!! Bernard and Manny were both fantastic characters and Bernard/Manny slash? That's a very...um...interesting thought!!
*sighs in relief* Phew! Thanks for checking it out and warning us!! It wasn't funny? How could it be Black Books slash then? I might need alcohol to erase just the thought from my mind now!! *offers you a drink* *hiccups drunkenly*
I love the sound of your future bookshop/cafe! I think 13 Chairs sounds best and your Grandpa must have had a wonderful sense of humour!! And I'm sure yours would be the nicest one of all! Cuz you would be the proprietress!
It is so funny. We finished the last season last night but we still have left looking at the outtakes and stuff. They only made 3 seasons, right
( ... )
You're right, it was just 3 seasons and it was a vastly underated series! It was typical British humour too - silly and sick in parts. And angst should not be allowed within a hundred miles of Black Books' slash!! It's just not right
( ... )
I've always wanted one as well... Maybe we should start one together?
And I LOVE Black Books!!!! I identify so completely with his attitude toward customers... Maybe you don't want to start any kind of customer related business with me after all.
Well, if you move over here and bring with you lots of cash I'm sure we can figure something out. *eg* When you get too grumpy I can just put a shade on your head and tell everyone you're a lamp. lmao
