I've just spent the last 3+ hours down at the old theatre, sitting in old creaky seats that made my arse hurt something really bad, watching Giant with James Dean on old movie reels that made the film flicker and cut off when the guy in charge wasn't quick enough to change them. Dodgy sound, too loud music, just a bunch of old folks and us

Damn. Giant - not often loved by those I know. But I adore that movie. James Dean was my first fandom love. It sounds like a lovely evening. I think I will have to put the tape in the VCR and have a moment. *smooch*

It's a great movie. And the setting made it all the better, gave you that real old time feeling.

It's been forever since I saw East of Eden though. Might have to rent it.
