Wish I could help. I had something similar happen to a laptop I used to have, but luckily not long after I got a monetary boost so I could get one since I was starting college. But I hope everything works out, and that a miracle happens, because laptops/computers are so important when you are going to school, or are a writer.

Thank you. It's just really bad timing, you know. Not that there is ever a good timing but this one is super bad. *sighs* My laptop feels like an extension of me sometimes, it's weird not to have it.

We're considering our options. I'm sure we'll figure something out. *hugs*

I am so sorry! I love Macs too, but it annoys me that they are so expensive. But I just couldn't handle a PC. I hope you find a good deal.

I have a PC on loan right now. Old bulky thing that is so damn loud it gives me a headache and some of the keys are really annoying, I keep having to go back and add missing letters. Of course a new one wouldn't be like that but I just miss all the features that the Mac has. And it feels so much more secure.

We'll figure something out. *hugs*

The 13 inch is still super light, but has a bigger keyboard. I have a 13inch MacBook Pro and love it. I looked at the airs but I run a lot of stuff on my computer so a friend suggest going with the Pro.

I mainly use mine for writing and surfing the internet, I never got into games and I have the artistic skills of a monkey so I don't really use any heavy software.

We were looking at the MacBook Pro, which is now at the same price as the 13" Air, but the guy at the store said they'd be taking it off the market this summer, focusing on the new Retinas. Still a great computer of course but in my case I don't think I need it and I definitely don't need the Retina. Even if the graphic looks amazing.

I have to admit the lightness will be a relief from my old MacBook since I do carry it around with me pretty much everywhere, just in case I get some time to sit down and write. And I do love the idea of fitting it into a neater bag than the one I use now.

That moodicon should go with something else. Like "surprise buttsecks". That's a mood, right?

Maybe consider a refurb Macbook Air. I bought one about a year ago after reading an article on one of the techie people type sites/blogs. He said he always bought refurbs because of the high quality refurbishment they go through. He figured it wasn't worth putting out the big bucks for a new Mac when a refurb was restored to new quality. Sometimes you have to keep checking the store for one to come up, but it's worth consideration when price is an issue. I can't believe how heavy my old white Macbook feels compared to the Macbook Air I've got. Plus Airplay mirroring to TV is a terrific feature.
