No wonder I've been feeling like crap. I should have had my B12 three weeks ago. *facepalm ( Read more... )

I'm the same as you, I have gastro-something-or-other and my stomach will not absorb most vitamins and I have a terrible time with my digestion sometimes, etc. Last time I went in for a b-12 shot my dr was out of them, ugh, so she told me to buy the sublingual drops since my stomach is such a bitch. They are a liquid with an eyedropper and you squirt them under your tongue, hold the liquid there for 30 seconds for it to start absorbing and then you swallow. They also have a better-tasting liquid form that you drink, it's usually cherry flavor, but I don't know if it absorbs as well as the under-the-tongue stuff. I get the same way, terrible leg aches and feeling exhausted, can't think straight or sleep, my arms hurt, etc. when I get low; pernicious anemia runs in my family history so I try to keep enough B-12. My autistic daughter had her check-up the other day and now SHE'S running low on both B-12 and D, sigh; guess she's gonna have the same problem of not being able to absorb her vitamins.

Have you ever looked into a tincture that has B12 in it? Even if its not quite as 'strong' as the injection, it could be you could have some on hand and use if you can't do the injection on time, or if the pills they *might* switch you to don't work as well.
