Am I right or am I right?

Among my favourite takes on Sherlock (BBC) in fic is where he so blindly believes the sociopath diagnosis he probably got as a child/pre-teen (Oh, I can so see it. You know his parents used it to control him as well as Mycroft who probably still holds it over his head, all in the name of brotherly love, the misguided bastard.) that he thinks ( Read more... )

Definitely an excellent choice for the type of Sherlock/John that you referenced in your post; it would make a great music vid! And I second the longing for this type of fanfic, where are all the recs, people?!!

If you ever get recced some of those fics you requested, please share! Also, if you already have a few recs of your own... they wouldn't go unappreciated ;)

Awesome choice of song, btw *nods*

What an incredible song! Truly perfect for Sherlock. I'm adding it to my Sherlock playlist immediately. :)

The Progress of Sherlock Holmes is a long, gorgeous fic about EXACTLY THIS. Enjoy :-)

I've actually been looking at trying to find some fics that deal solely with Sherlock's childhood. Finding none that satisfy, I have begun to write my own.

My take on how Sherlock turned out the way he did was alienating his classmates, or them him, by being so blunt with pointing out things to them. The tricks were fun in earlier grades, but not so much later on in the teens.
Death of the only person who understood him, his mother. Resentment toward Mycroft...etc.

And the song totally applies! :)
