After reading Queenfanfiction's In Search Of A Word: A Symphony Of First Times (Sherlock/John and it's amazing. Go read! There's even a YouTube playlist.) I kinda want to write a Door's timestamp with Jensen wanting to learn to play the violin. If you want to write a Doors timestamp, then you should definitely write a Doors timestamp :) I'm afraid I can't decide whether it would be more fun to have Jensen as a genius or a nightmare on the violin either (sorry, that's no help to you at all). But it reminds me of something I've wanted to ask you for ages: can this Jensen sing? What happens if he does?

Haha, I've never even thought of that. I have no idea if he can sing. He does hum a lot since he has music playing in his head pretty much 24/7 but I sort of imagine he's "playing" it, as in seeing and hearing it the way he would play it on the piano. But singing... I'll have to think about that.

Ok, now I'm imagining him accidentally turning all of New York into a musical with people singing and dancing in the streets. LMAO. How about we say that's what would happen and hope he doesn't get anything from Nick Cave's Murder Ballads as an ear worm? lol

I really wish I had time to write everything that pops into my head. If I had 34 hours in the day instead of 24 I'd probably spend the extra ten writing. And then dying from mental exhaustion. lol

An accidental New York musical sounds brilliant! Dozens of people doing big Busby Berkley-style song and dance numbers about the magnificence of Jared. Hee. No murder ballads though, that would be disturbing :)

I was thinking about singing because, the way I imagine it (and I may be completely wrong) is that he's got all this music swirling around inside his head and it goes through the piano and out into the world. So if there's no piano in between then that would change things somehow, I think. Maybe it would be the same for the violin, if as you say he's 'seeing and hearing it the way he would play it on the piano' then he'd probably try to play the violin in a pretty uniquely piano-like way!

Wow, I really want you to write it now :D

Ooh, that is an interesting thought. It probably would change things, yes. I kinda imagine it would be more like playing a whole symphony orchestra though. Like the same way he sometimes - usually for Jared - allows himself to be everything he is, no holding back, opening up his soul to the world, if he did that with music instead of just emotions... It would be like the most magnificent symphonic music, made up of all the instruments in the world. Loud enough to pop your ear drums I imagine. Add singing and he'd probably break every piece of glass in the whole state of New York. lol ( ... )

There could actually be both. As in at first he is quite horrible and can't understand why the violin is being such a bitch when his piano always behaves and gives him her best. And then he finally gets how he needs to talk to it - because to him it's of course just as alive as the piano is, lol - and suddenly it's making this amazing music. Hmmm... *ponders*

I was going to say that! Jensen having an epiphany - with fairies and little pink ponies whirling around, applauding as he suddenly gets it, and bends the violin to his will...

Heee! Now I'm imagining pink My Little Ponies frolicking in clouds and licking rainbows while Jensen plays like crazy, grinning like a mad man. God, I'm going to have some confusing dreams tonight. lol

I love the idea of adorable confused Jensen, and patient indulgent Jared.

I love the idea of Jensen sort of losing control of the strange wild new notes that then just run amok through the streets of New York, before he finally makes friends with his violin.

But most of all I love the idea of you adding anything at all to this achingly beautiful story.
