Less -- the guy in the story got what he deserved.
I actually suspected that the game probably involved real badgers. But given the way the Middle Ages treated animals, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm still traumatized by the Medieval game played in rural Italy, that involved nailing a live cat to a post and got worse from there.
